Dr. Jose Ortega is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he specialized in arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Ortega’s areas of expertise include arthroscopic rotator cuff and instability repairs, knee ligament reconstruction, meniscal and cartilage injury management, and non-invasive treatment of shoulder and knee arthritis.
Dr. Ortega utilizes regenerative medicine technology for the treatment of arthritis and soft tissue injuries.
Dr. Ortega is on staff at Palms West Hospital, and the Palms Wellington Surgical Center. Dr. Ortega is the current team physician for Wellington High School.
Dr. Ortega is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, with additional board certification in sports medicine. He is distinguished as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Ortega is also active in orthopedic research and has presented numerous lectures at both national and international levels. Dr. Ortega is bilingual, with full fluency in English and Spanish.
